PHOENIX — Thanksgiving here, and Arizona drivers who toast a little too much to what they are thankful for can get a free tow home.
AAA of Arizona is offering its Tipsy Tow service for people across the state on the night before Thanksgiving, spokeswoman Michelle Donati told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
The Tipsy Tow service allows anyone — not just AAA members — to request a free tow up to 10 miles.
“We want to make sure that drivers out there who are going out and celebrating have a safe option to get home,” Donati said.
The service will be offered from 6 p.m. on Wednesday to 6 a.m. on Thursday.
Arizonans who are looking to access the service can call 1-800-AAA-HELP and ask for a Tipsy Tow.
The caller will also have to provide the driver’s name, address, phone number and vehicle location.
AAA will then take the driver, their vehicle and one guest to their home or to a nearby hotel if they are planning to spend the night there.
After 10 miles, Donati said, the driver will be charged a standard towing rate.
Tipsy Tow also does not include roadside assistance for services like flat tires or dead batteries.
