PHOENIX — A housecat unwittingly made a bad week worse for actor Frankie Muniz, who returned home from a funeral in France to find his Phoenix brownstone a flooded mess.

Muniz posted several tweets about the misadventure at his five-story home late last week.

Ceilings, walls, floors, furniture and photos were left in ruins, he said, “All because my cat accidentally turned on a sink a few days ago while we were gone.”

Muniz and girlfriend Paige Price had attended the funeral and spent some time in Marseilles. Price posted photos of part of the trip on Instagram.

Muniz credited Price with keeping him sane.

But the drama wasn’t quite over for the former “Malcolm in the Middle” star.

Finally, something good happened. According to an Instagram photo posted Monday, Muniz proposed and Price said yes.

“I truly cannot wait to be your wife. P.S. You’re officially the master of proposals,” she wrote.

When you’re a little girl, you dream of marrying the man of your dreams. You think of all these extravagant things from the way he asks you, to the dress you’re going to wear, to the music you’re going to dance to with your father. Sometimes, reality has a tendency to overstep your dreams and really surprise you. Francisco Muniz IV, you’re more than a dream to me. You teach me every day, you compliment me when I’m at my worst, and you push me past the edge but you’re there to pick me up when I start showing signs of falling. I love every piece of you, and I appreciate you more and more every single day. I truly cannot wait to be your wife ♥️ P.S. You’re officially the master of proposals. 143.

Muniz, 32, has bought and sold several properties around the Valley over the years. He sold a Phoenix home in the Biltmore neighborhood in December 2017 for $3.2 million. That same year he listed a Scottsdale home at $2.4 million.

In 2014, Muniz sold a mansion in Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood for $2.85 million.

We want to hear from you.
