Hulk says vote Garcia, smash Ducey in Arizona governor race

PHOENIX — The Hulk — in his non-screen guise as Mark Ruffalo — flexed his muscles to back Arizona Democratic gubernatorial candidate David Garcia.
Ruffalo, best known for playing Dr. Bruce Banner and his angry green alter-ego in Marvel superhero movies, posted a 1-minute, 13-second video about Garcia to Twitter on Wednesday.
The actor and Democratic activist provided a history lesson, pointing out that Garcia could become the state’s first Latino governor since Raul Castro in the 1970s.
“A fourth-generation Latino veteran, teacher and Arizonan. A son of a working family. A first-generation college graduate with a doctorate in education. And now he’s your Democratic candidate for Arizona governor,” Ruffalo said.

He then urged viewers to cast their ballots.
“We need you more than ever. Voting is powerful. Sí se pueda,” he said, using the Spanish phrase that translates to “yes, it can be done” and echoes former President Barack Obama’s rallying cry of “yes we can.”

Ruffalo’s support comes on the heels of an endorsement from 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and a Tempe rally for Garcia that featured Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
If you are looking at polls, the idea of Garcia succeeding might seem as plausible as Banner transforming into the massive Hulk without tearing his pants apart.
Most of the polling on the race has shown Gov. Doug Ducey, the Republican incumbent, with a commanding double-digit lead.
Who knows? Maybe Hulk, er, Ruffalo can help Garcia smash that deficit.
