PHOENIX — Phoenix Police recently arrested a man who allegedly raped at least seven Valley women over the last year.

Isaias Jimenez-Perez, 35, is facing 19 charges, including multiple counts of sexual assault, kidnapping and aggravated assault.

According to court documents, he is living in the country illegally.

Police were able to identify Jimenez-Perez based on certain consistencies in victims’ stories — the weapons he used to threaten them and their descriptions of him and his vehicle.

Jimenez-Perez allegedly approached women along 27th Avenue and would lead them to secluded locations where he would rape and threaten to kill them.

The most recent reported attack was Sept. 24, according to court documents.

Jimenez-Perez was located the following day and taken into custody.

A lab analysis revealed that Jimenez-Perez’s DNA matched swabs taken from victims after two previous attacks. Analyses for the remaining incidents are pending, according to court documents.

“Once in custody…detectives were able to combine various items of evidence to include technology as well as victim and witness statements, and they developed that probable cause to arrest him,” Phoenix Police Sergeant Armando Carbajal told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

Since Jimenez-Perez was taken into custody, he was linked to and charged in three other sexual assault cases.

“I think that the important thing is to understand that the suspect is in custody and he’s no longer a threat to the community, but we’re also asking the community that if anybody has any information regarding these cases or the suspect, please call the Phoenix Police Department,” Carbajal said.

He added that callers can remain anonymous by calling the Silent Witness line.
