SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) – Puerto Rico had the highest number of federal public corruption convictions for any U.S. judicial district last year.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Tuesday that the U.S. territory came in first with 130 convictions. U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez says Puerto Rico had come in second since 2002, always trailing the district of New Jersey.
The website of the U.S. courts system says there are a total of 94 U.S. judicial districts.
