PHOENIX — When choosing a Halloween horror movie, do you feel drawn toward cannibal Hannibal Lecter?
You’re not alone.
Arizona’s favorite horror movie is “The Silence of the Lambs,” according to a report from a cable provider comparison website.
The report took a list of 25 highly rated horror movies and compared them with Google Trends data in each state.
“The Ring” took top honors, earning the title “favorite horror movie” in 18 states.
“The Silence of the Lambs” was the next most popular, reaching No. 1 in five states.
The site also conducted a survey about horror movies and found that people considered “It” (either the original or the remake) to be the scariest movie ever, followed by “The Exorcist” and “Saw.”
“It” was also the most popular answer for the first scary movie respondents ever saw. The average age respondents watched their first horror movie was 7.2 years old.
