PHOENIX — Sprouts Farmers Market, the rapidly expanding Phoenix-based grocer, announced plans to open approximately 30 stores in 2019.
In a press release this week, the company revealed the locations for seven of the new stores, none in Arizona, which are expected to open in the first quarter of the year.
They will be in Carlsbad and Fontana, California; Clearwater and Naples, Florida; Las Vegas; Sugar Land, Texas; and Lynnwood, Washington.
Additional details will be announced in early 2019, the release said.
Sprouts currently operates more than 300 stores in 19 states, including 39 in Arizona.
In September, the grocer said it would be testing a curbside pickup option.
In a partnership with Instacart, Sprouts already offers a delivery service for a fee at some locations.
The company, which opened its first store 16 years ago, has been rumored to be an acquisition target by a larger retailer.
The Street has mentioned Albertson’s and Target as potential suitors.
