PHOENIX — There might be rain coming down in metro Phoenix on Tuesday but the skies could be worse in other parts of Arizona, possibly filled with hail, weather experts said.
Thunderstorms around the Valley were possible — there was a 20 percent chance of rain — but outside of Maricopa County, forecasters pointed to the likelihood of much more severe weather. Besides hail, there could be high winds.

Significant weather advisories had been issued, short term, for Maricopa and Gila counties, but they were no longer in effect by 7:15 a.m.
The high in the Phoenix area was expected to reach 86 degrees with some cloudiness that extended to Wednesday.
A big monsoon storm unloaded hail on the Valley in late August.
Parts of the area absorbed anywhere from half an inch to over an inch of rain and a flash flood warning was put in place.
