Could Trump visit Valley before midterms? Ducey says it’s possible

PHOENIX — A potential visit to the Phoenix area from President Donald Trump is still up in the air, but Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey said if the president decides to visit ahead of next month’s midterm election, he would be right alongside him.
“Oh, I’ll be there,” Ducey told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Arizona’s Morning News on Thursday. “When the president comes to town, I will be there to greet him. It’s one of the special privileges as governor.”
Senate candidate Rep. Martha McSally told ABC15 that Trump will visit the state to campaign for her, but did not confirm a date or location.
A legal dispute between Phoenix and a local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union prevented Trump from visiting the city in September, but with less than a month to go before the Nov. 6 election, there is still some time for him to visit.
Ducey said Trump has been looking at dates to come visit, and that there are “some tentative dates on hold,” but that nothing is confirmed yet.
“Now’s the time for rallies and if the president comes to do a rally I’ll greet him,” Ducey said.
“Martha (McSally) and I will be campaigning quite a bit, so we will be at rallies across the state and if the president will come here to do a rally we will be there as well.”
Trump has already visited Arizona several times, most notably during the 2016 election.
“I think Arizona is President Trump’s favorite state to visit,” Ducey said.
