Arizona Snowbowl gets early snowfall amid El Nino predictions

PHOENIX — Autumn precipitation continues to fall from the Arizona sky as the northern Arizona ski resort Snowbowl received its first snowfall of the year on Sunday.
Six inches have splattered the Flagstaff, Ariz. resort as of 10 a.m. on Sunday and as much as 15 inches is expected through Monday.
El Nino conditions tend to produce more snowfall than average and those were the conditions predicted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for the upcoming winter season.
Snowbowl is scheduled to begin operations on Friday Nov. 16.
Arizona has already experienced an unusual amount of precipitation this fall.
Remnants from what was Hurricane Rosa dropped a record setting amount of rain on the Valley setting record for the month of October. The storm made broke the previous record of 2.24 inches of rain for an entire month by dropping 2.36 inches in just two day.
The rain hasn’t subsided in the Valley as .41 inches fell on Saturday night dampening roads during the Sunday morning commute.
The forecast for Flagstaff shows a possibility of rain and more snow showers through Tuesday night and the possibility of thunderstorms through Columbus Day on Monday in Phoenix.
