Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild said it isn’t a matter of who killed Jason Wedo, it’s a matter of where he escaped to. The search is on for the vehicular homicide suspect, Christopher Flores.
Rothschild said Flores was driving under the influence when he struck and killed Wedo, who was riding a bicycle near McKellips and Dobson. It happened Sept. 23, 2006.
“Christopher Flores was arrested for this crime but then released by the court and failed to appear afterwards. He took off and police don’t know where he went,” said Rothschild.

Next, Rothschild said, “It was Thursday, April 19th, 2018 at about 4:45 in the afternoon in a very well-traveled area.”
A black Dodge Charger pulled up next to a car full of teens at the intersection of 71st Avenue and Osborn. A passenger in the Charger opened fire. A 15-year-old girl was shot in the head. She survived.
“We’re told that the vehicle is stock. Nothing really stood out about it, except that it might have had black painted rims,” said Rothschild.
Investigators don’t know what led up to the shooting. It could have been road rage or mistaken identity. Witnesses said the shooter was a man in his mid-20s with possibly a spider web tattoo on his neck.
