SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) – Police in Puerto Rico say masked gunmen shot a man to death, then placed his baby alongside the corpse.
Agent Luis Fontanez says two gunmen crept up on the 23-year-old man as he stood outside his car talking to a friend in the town of Rio Grande. Wounded, the 23-year-old man jumped into his car to escape but crashed because of his injuries. The gunmen then took his body out of the car and laid it on the ground, removing his infant son from the car seat and placing it alongside the body.
They then took off with his car. Fontanez said the friend was also wounded in the attack early Monday.
He said the motive is unknown and the infant boy, about 18 months old, was unharmed.
