PHOENIX — A suspect was in critical condition after an officer-involved shooting in Phoenix early Saturday morning.
The incident happened around 5 a.m. in the area of 83rd and Campbell avenues while police were responding to domestic violence call, according to authorities.
Officers went in to check on the victim who had called about being physically assaulted when the two officers heard a door slam and what sounded like a shotgun being racked from the bedroom.
As the officers forced their way into the room, the suspect raised the shotgun at the two before both officers shot at the suspect.
The officers were not harmed, while the suspect was left in critical condition.
The woman who had reported the abuse was not seriously hurt during the domestic dispute.
