Amazon expands grocery delivery service to Phoenix, Tucson

PHOENIX — Residents in two Arizona cities now have another company that can deliver groceries straight to their door.
Amazon announced on Wednesday that it launched grocery delivery through Whole Foods Market in Phoenix and Tucson, as well as eight other cities across the nation. It also expanded its services in New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas.

“Prime Now delivery continues to be a hit with our customers and we’re excited to introduce the service in 10 new cities,” Christina Minardi, Whole Foods Market’s vice president of operations, said in a press release.
“It’s just another way we’re making it even easier for more customers to enjoy Whole Foods Market’s healthy and organic food.”
Residents in Phoenix and Tucson who have Amazon Prime can get produce, bakery, dairy, meat and seafood items from Whole Foods delivered to their door. Alcoholic beverages will not be part of the new program.
Delivery will be available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.
Amazon is just one of the many companies that is capitalizing on the grocery delivery trend in Arizona: Bashas’, Sprouts and even Target have offered the service to residents.
