PHOENIX — The city of Chandler now has a new parking garage.

Kim Moyers, the city of Chandler’s director of downtown development, said the new facility is west of Arizona Avenue.

It is “the first of two parking garages on the west side, providing, altogether, about an additional 1,300 parking spaces,” Moyers added.

The new garage is also free 24 hours a day.

Moyers said the expansion of a new parking garage is evidence of how much the city is growing.

“We do have three existing parking garages on the east side of Arizona Avenue but it was apparent that we needed additional parking garages on the west side,” she said.

“Downtown is growing and expanding.”

There’s also a new shuttle service for the garage — and three others in the area.

The vehicles will take people to destinations in and around downtown Chandler. It will operate Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The vehicles can be hailed by calling 602-730-5153.

The new garage is part of the $25 million Overstreet development. That project includes a Flix Brewhouse cinema, plus space for restaurants, retail and offices.
