PHOENIX — Rush-hour traffic in the West Valley will be turned up a few notches Thursday afternoon and evening thanks to the Arizona Cardinals and Wiz Khalifa.
The Cardinals’ final game of the preseason, against the Denver Broncos, kicks off at 7 p.m. in Glendale. The University of Phoenix Stadium parking lots open at 3 p.m. for tailgaters and other early birds.

That means heavy traffic for fans headed to the game or concert as well as commuters heading home after work.
The Arizona Department of Transportation advised anybody who isn’t going to the stadium to avoid the area if possible or allow for extra travel time.
ADOT’s freeway signs will carry messages with updated information about traffic conditions and recommended routes.
Cardinals ticket holders from Scottsdale and the East Valley were asked to consider taking Loop 101 rather than using Interstate 10 westbound to get to the game.
The Cardinals, who start the regular season at home against the Washington Redskins on Sept. 9, reminded fans about the NFL’s clear bag policy on Twitter.
