PHOENIX — On the eve of Arizona’s primary election, President Donald Trump offered his “complete endorsement” of Gov. Doug Ducey in his re-election bid.
Trump said Ducey was doing “a great job” in a tweet Monday at 10:22 a.m. Arizona time.
Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona is doing a great job. It would be really nice to show your support tomorrow by voting for him in Tuesdays Primary. Doug is strong on Crime, the Border, and our Second Amendment. Loves our Military & our Vets. He has my full and complete Endorsement.

It came while the governor was considering a replacement for Sen. John McCain, who died Saturday.
Ducey has said he would wait until after McCain’s funeral Sunday to select the Republican who will hold the seat until 2020. That’s when voters will decided who will complete McCain’s term, which runs until 2022.
Ducey is being challenged by former Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett in Tuesday’s Republican primary.
The incumbent is the heavy favorite in that race, but polling shows a tight battle shaping up for the general election.
In a July poll by Gravis Marketing about a potential head-to-head matchup, the governor was slightly behind Democratic front-runner David Garcia.
That was released shortly after an NBC News/Marist poll showed that 59 percent of Arizona voters didn’t think Ducey deserved a second term.
