PHOENIX — A man was shot and killed in Phoenix after drawing a weapon on an officer Saturday, authorities said.
At least one officer was involved in the shooting that occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the area of 15th and Southern avenues, Phoenix police said.
During a search for a felony warrant suspect, officers located the individual. The man took off, jumping through numerous yards before trying to break into a home.
An officer was able to catch up with the suspect where he used his taser. It had little effect.
The suspect then drew out a weapon, causing the officer to pull out his firearm and shoot the individual.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Phoenix Fire.
No officers were hurt during the incident.
