PHOENIX — Hopefully residents in the Phoenix area are not sick of pizza, because a well-known Chicago-based pizzeria will soon open another location in the Valley.

Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria is set to open its Scottsdale location in September, the Phoenix Business Journal reported.

The restaurant already has two locations in the Phoenix area, but its newest at the corner of Scottsdale Road and Chauncey Lane will be the company’s largest Arizona project to date.

The full-service restaurant will be 10,000 square feet, including an outdoor patio area. It will also include a full bar along with carryout, delivery, and catering services.

“We may still be working on the design for this new pizzeria, but one thing is for sure: We are staying true to our commitment to providing a true taste of Chicago in Arizona!” the restaurant said on its website.

“Our made-from-scratch dough, Wisconsin mozzarella cheese, and vine-ripened tomatoes, all staples in our deep dish pizza recipe, will remain the same, just like our first location in Phoenix, and our next location in Arcadia.”

But the Phoenix Business Journal reported that the restaurant design will incorporate vintage posters of Chicago and its landmarks, to “embrace Malnati’s heritage and large percentage of its Chicago transplant customer base,” as well as feature six-foot petrified palm trees that were “inspired by the Scottsdale desert ambiance.”

And if you are worried that the new restaurant will not have the capacity to fill your pizza-hungry stomachs, no worries: The seven double-stack pizza ovens will make sure you are always fed.

Those who are looking to entertain guests will also be able to do so at the new location, as it will feature private dining rooms.

“We are very excited about the separate area for private parties,” Sasha Milosavljevich, Lou Malnati’s director of facilities and real estate, told the publication.

“And we will take reservations for private parties in that private section.”

Mike Sterner, the restaurant’s district manager for Arizona, told the publication that the Scottsdale location will employ between 185 and 200 people.

The restaurant opened its first Arizona location, at the Uptown Plaza at First Avenue and Camelback Road, in 2016.

Lou Malnati’s is not the only pizzeria in the Valley with Chicago roots: Giordano’s and Gino’s East also have several Phoenix-area locations.

We want to hear from you.
