2-year-old boy pulled from pool in Mesa over weekend dies

PHOENIX — A 2-year-old boy pulled from a Mesa residential pool in a drowning incident over the weekend has died, a police spokesman said Monday.
According to Mesa police, Dangelo Mendoza died Sunday night at the hospital.
Authorities responded Saturday afternoon to a call at the house near Guadalupe and Dobson roads.
An investigation into the incident was ongoing.
No charges were pending, Mesa police said.
According to statistics kept by ABC15, it was the 10th deadly drowning involving a child in the Phoenix area this year.
On Sunday, a 42-year-old man died in a drowning incident at Lake Pleasant north of Phoenix.
