PHOENIX — In the real estate world, buying and flipping houses can turn into quite a profit. If done incorrectly, though, it can also devastate a bank account.
But a number of Arizona cities ranked quite well in the latest report from WalletHub.
Its top city, Peoria, had the seventh-best score.
Its “quality of life” rank was solid at No. 24, but its “renovation and remodeling costs” placement really moved it up. It’s one of the nine best, according to the site.
There were nine Arizona cities ranked in the study.
Chandler, coming in at No. 16 overall, was the second-best Arizona city.
Gilbert, Glendale, Phoenix and Tempe were also in the top 35.
Scottsdale was the lowest of all, ranked No. 86, and it was joined by Tucson (No. 81) and Mesa (No. 67).
Gilbert may have been even higher if it wasn’t ranked No. 97 in the subsection “percentage of population and walkable park access.”
However, it made up for it by having the highest median salary, adjusted for cost of living, out of every city in the study.
Scottsdale ranked fourth overall in this subsection.
WalletHub ranked 172 cities, made of the 150 most-populated cities while making sure each state got at least two representatives, based on three criteria: market potential, renovation and remodeling costs, and quality of life.
Each of those three sections have different metrics to evaluate the city.
