PHOENIX — The ride-sharing company Lyft rolled out a new partnership on Tuesday — and turned to a well-known Arizona Diamondbacks player to help promote it.

While visiting kids at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, pitcher Archie Bradley spoke about Lyft’s new partnership with the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

The new partnership will allow passengers to donate to the hospital every time they ride with Lyft and use the company’s “Round Up and Donate” feature.

Bradley explained how it works.

He said the first step is to download the Lyft app. To opt in to donate, passengers must select “Round Up and Donate” in the settings tab on the Lyft app. Then, passengers can select Phoenix Children’s Hospital as the cause they’d like to support.

“Every ride you take from then on out will round up to the nearest dollar amount, and that money will go directly to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital,” Bradley said.

Passengers have donated more than $5 million to various causes through the “Round Up and Donate” feature.

Bradley said every donation made to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital through this will help.

“Every ride is going to round up, and it’s going to be 30 cents to 60 cents,” he said. “But every little bit adds up and makes an impact in these kids’ lives.”

Silvia Capir, spokeswoman for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation, agreed.

“It costs us $2 million a day to run our hospital, and we have over 60 programs that are run strictly on philanthropy so every single dollar counts,” she said.
