Silver Alert canceled; Clarkdale man found safe after driving to Luke AFB

PHOENIX — Authorities canceled a Silver Alert on Thursday for an 87-year-old man who didn’t return home to Clarkdale, Arizona, after driving to Luke Air Force Base a day earlier.

Wesley Douglass had not been seen since setting out Wednesday from Clarkdale, about two hours north of the West Valley base.

He was expected to return the same day. Douglass was found safe on Thursday.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety described Douglass as 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He has high blood pressure and limited hearing

He was driving a white 2007 Mercury Mariner SUV with Arizona license plate 7F87VT.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to call the Clarkdale Police Department at 928-634-2921.
