PHOENIX — Many small businesses throughout Arizona are offering 20 percent discounts in celebration of Independents Week, running from June 30 to July 8.

By obtaining a golden ticket coupon, customers can enjoy discounts at many independent shops and restaurants across the state.

Customers can obtain a golden ticket from the Local First Arizona website and various locations throughout the state.

There are hundreds of participating businesses in the area, including cleaning companies, yoga studios, music shops and restaurants.

So to help narrow your choices down, some famous Arizonans offered their favorite small businesses as suggestions.

Aidy Bryant of “Saturday Night Live” fame was born and raised in Arizona.

Also, Mesa native Jim Atkins of the band Jimmy Eat World shared a story of how he got his start in the music business.

To top off the week, Local First Arizona and concert promoter Psyko Steve are hosting a bowling tournament on July 8 at Let it Roll Bowl.
