PHOENIX — Several law enforcement agencies from around the Valley are teaming up for the Fourth of July holiday.

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Section will be joining Tempe and Scottsdale police over the holiday weekend as part of the DUI Task Force.

The three departments will conduct saturation patrols in numerous areas until July 4 covering the three jurisdictions, with a command post in Scottsdale.

In addition, Chandler officers will hold saturation patrols in Chandler on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Members of the Gilbert Police Department will join Chandler police on Tuesday for the Know Your Limit campaign, which is a non-enforcement program made to help educate the public on alcohol and its effects on people’s blood alcohol level.

All of the Chandler officers participating over the holiday weekend are trained to detect roadway impairment.

The department urged everyone to wear your seatbelt, drive defensively and if you happen to have a few drinks, designate a driver or call for a ride.

We want to hear from you.
