Small plane goes down in desert near interstate in north Phoenix

PHOENIX – Three people aboard a small aircraft were hospitalized Tuesday after their plane went down in the desert near Interstate 17 in north Phoenix.
Phoenix and Daisy Mountain fire departments transported three adults, all in stable condition, to nearby hospitals, authorities said. They were able to walk, but no further information about their condition was made available.
Phoenix police responded to a call about a plane going down west of I-17 near Dove Valley Road shortly after 10 a.m.
There was no fire at the scene, and no roadways or vehicles were impacted by the incident.
Footage from television helicopters on the scene showed the aircraft flipped over.
According to a Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport spokesman, the plane was a Cessna 172 based out of Deer Valley Airport.
No information about why the plane went down was made available.
