Phoenix immigration attorney breaks down tumultuous week’s news

PHOENIX — This week, news of more than 2,300 immigrant children being separated from their families — mostly seeking asylum — at the border sparked a conversation over the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance policy.
The policy, implemented in April, called for the prosecution of anybody crossing the border illegally, without exception.
Immigrants detained after crossing at ports of entry with children were being separated and housed in facilities apart from one another.
