The suspect in the murder of 56-year-old Tim Harnack has been arrested, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Katrina Mitchell, 20, was arrested Friday on one count of first-degree murder and one count of abandoning and concealing body.
On June 2, an employee at Rousseau Farms near Glendale Ave and the 303 freeway found a body wrapped in a blanket in an irrigation canal on a large corn field, MCSO said.
Two days later, the Phoenix Police Department investigated a “suspicious vehicle” in a neighborhood that ended up belonging to Harnack. Inside, they found “a large amount of blood in the rear compartment.”
Evidence in the vehicle matched that at the crime scene.
MCSO said Mitchell and Harnack were friends.
