PHOENIX — StarshineAZ, a business-assistance group in the West Valley, is accepting applications for its inaugural female entrepreneur scholarship program, “Reach for the STARs.”
Founder Susan Moody said the ideal candidate is a female entrepreneur who has a lot of ambition and drive to create and maintain a woman-owned business in the West Valley — but may not have funds or exeperience.
“At the very minimum, recipients receive a Starshine community membership – either in person or online – that includes participation in our peer-to-peer mentoring programs (and) our business education classes,” Moody said.
These could also include wellness workshops, and being paired up with an accountability partner.
“At StarshineAZ, our goal is to transform the way women do business through collaboration and community,” she said.
“This scholarship is a perfect way for an up-and-coming female business owner to find a community of like-minded women to help them cultivate and grow their businesses.”
The scholarships are valued up to $1,000 each.
Recipients must, among other things, have transportation and be able to attend certain programs in Glendale. Submissions will be accepted until Friday.
Online application packets and additional program details and requirements are available here.
