PHOENIX — Women in the Phoenix area who are looking to find love on a reality TV show could soon do just that.
Auditions for the hit ABC reality series “The Bachelor” will be held in Scottsdale on June 16.
They will be held at The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch near Scottsdale Road and McCormick Parkway from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Potential candidates have to be single, at least 21 years old, a United States citizen, have a valid passport and have no felony convictions.
Women are also encouraged to complete the application, print it out and bring it with them during the casting call.
Those who will not be able to make it to the casting call in Scottsdale can travel to nearby Denver, where auditions will be held at Blue Moon Rino Brewery from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on July 26, or Costa Mesa, where auditions will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Westin South Coast Plaza on July 28.
This is not the first Scottsdale tie that “The Bachelor” has had: Arie Luyendyk Jr., the latest bachelor, is a Scottsdale native.
Luyendyk Jr., a race car driver, had arguably one of the most dramatic season finales in the show’s 22 seasons. (A recent profile from GQ dubbed Luyendyk Jr. “the most hated bachelor in America.”)
He proposed to Becca Kufrin, a 28-year-old publicist from Minnesota, on the show’s finale (as is expected).
But, weeks later, he broke up with Kufrin and proposed to Lauren Burnham, the runner-up — all on television (as is not expected).
Nicole Meacham, a 31-year-old real estate agent from Scottsdale, also competed for Chris Soules’ heart on the 19th season of “The Bachelor.”
Soules ultimately proposed to Whitney Bischoff, a 29-year-old fertility nurse, on the season’s finale. The couple split two months after the finale aired.
