PHOENIX — The good news? The Valley will get double-digit weather this Memorial Day weekend.

Bad news? The temperature was expected to reach 100 degrees on Monday, the holiday itself.

The weather on Saturday and Sunday weather was forecast to be 94 and 95 degrees, respectively, according to the Weather Channel.

On Saturday, the temperature was slightly lower than originally expected, hitting 93 degrees in Phoenix.

The worst news?

Sunday is the final day forecast to be stay below 100 degrees until September.

The rest of the week is projected to range from 100 to 104 degrees.

That forecast is liable to change, particularly when the Weather Channel looks a month into the future, but its message is clear: prepare yourself for some heat.

On Saturday, the low was expected to be 68 degrees. The Weather Channel’s distant forecast projects that to be the final day with a low below 70 degrees until October.

Sunday’s low was forecast to be 71 degrees, and 75 on Monday.

The lows were expected to remain in the low-to-mid 70s through the rest of May.

Memorial Day is a time to be outside with family, whether its a picnic, barbecue or simply exploring a new area.

Whether you’re visiting the 10,000 American flag display at the University of Phoenix, attaching your own flagpole at home or stuck in traffic, take a moment to appreciate the final days of temperature in the 90s before Arizona summer begins.

We want to hear from you.
