PHOENIX – More people can order cold beer with their pizza without leaving home after Pizza Hut expanded a test delivery program it started in Phoenix last year.
The company announced Tuesday that it was widening the service that began in one downtown restaurant in December to more than 100 locations in Arizona and California.
Participating restaurants in Phoenix, Tucson, Glendale, Prescott and Winslow were added to the beer delivery program.
In California, the service was made available in Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Riverside, Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Santa Clara, with Anaheim, Fresno, Huntington Beach and Redding to be added soon.
“Many Pizza Hut restaurants are already licensed to serve and distribute beer, without third party services, additional fees or extended wait times,” Zipporah Allen, chief marketing officer for Pizza Hut, told Reuters.
Pizza Hut designed a custom cooler to keep the beer cold during delivery.
The company’s initial beer partnership was with Anheuser-Busch, and it added MillerCoors to the mix.
