PHOENIX — The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at 59th Avenue will close permanently at 8 p.m. on Sunday night, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced.
As an alternative, motorists were advised to exit at 51st or 67th avenues until the new road in completed in mid-May.
This is the latest progress in construction work aiming to connect the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway to the I-10 in the West Valley.
It’s one of several ramps that will be removed when the freeway is completed in late 2019.
ADOT noted that motorists will be able to access 59th Avenue from the new roadways.
