Semi rolls over, accident closes Interstate 17 at Loop 101

PHOENIX — A semi truck carrying bags of concrete rolled over in Phoenix early Thursday, shutting down a freeway interchange shortly before the start of commuter hours.
North and south ramps from Interstate 17 to Loop 101 East were closed around 5 a.m., a spokesman for the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
CLOSED: Ramps from I-17 northbound and southbound to L-101 eastbound because of this rollover. This will last through the morning commute to clean up concrete bags that were spilled. #PhxTraffic pic.twitter.com/NZyxPw6uPq

The closure lasted well into the morning; the roadway didn’t reopen until around 9 a.m.
