LISTEN: D-backs open 20th Anniversary Experience Museum

PHOENIX — For their 21st season in the major leagues, the Arizona Diamondbacks have gone to an extra length, adding a museum in the outfield to enhance the fan experience.

“For starters we have our celebratory logo which has been created, we’ll be wearing that on our hats this entire homestand as well as a patch on our jersey all year long,” Cullen Maxey, D-backs executive vice president and chief revenue officer, said.

“And in the ballpark, we are commemorating permanently with what we are calling our 20th anniversary experience, which is an area we developed in right-center field for all fans to enjoy for free.”

The idea behind the anniversary experience is to celebrate everything that has happened during the team’s first two decades of existence, or as Maxey puts it, “the first generation.”

The D-backs have made the postseason six times since their inception. Each of those playoff teams, including the 2001 World Series Champions, are honored in the museum.

The World Series trophy has also found a new home in the outfield.

But that’s not all.

Every single accolade won by a D-backs player is on display for every fan to see. That includes Gold Glove and Silver Slugger awards.

In addition, every player who ever donned an Arizona jersey has a signed baseball in the museum.

With so much to see, Maxey encouraged fans to arrive to the ballpark early to really take in all the museum has to offer.

We want to hear from you.
