PHOENIX — A popular metro Phoenix breakfast-and-lunch restaurant will expand into Tempe next month, the company said.
Scottsdale’s Morning Squeeze will open at Seventh Street and Mill Avenue, the second location for the 5-year-old cafe.
The new site will be close to Arizona State University’s main campus and will include a large dog patio, just as the original on Scottsdale Road near Camelback Road does.
“We’re really excited to be expanding this concept,” owner Todd Belfer said in a press release.
“Between the nearby ASU campus and recent development of Downtown Tempe we think this is the perfect neighborhood for our second Valley location.”
Daily hours have been set for 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The menu will also duplicate that of the first restaurant. Customers will fill their stomachs with food featuring organic ingredients in bakery offerings, breakfast tacos, sandwiches and specialty bowls and a coffee bar, all shown off in bright, 1970s-themed decor.
An exact date for the opening hasn’t been announced. A spokeswoman only said it would happen early April.
The Tempe restaurant was still hiring as of late March. Prospective employees could pick up applications at either location.
Morning Squeeze will join a downtown breakfast scene that has grown in the past few years to include Snooze an A.M. Eatery, Ncounter and Matt’s Big Breakfast.
