Police shoot suspect at early morning house fire in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Police in Phoenix called to a house fire by other first responders shot a man suspected of setting the blaze, early Wednesday.
The fire and shooting near 24th Street and Osborn Road happened around 5 a.m.
The suspect was taken to a trauma center for treatment.
Fire Capt. Jake Van Hook said firefighters got to the home and encountered a “police situation.” They called in.
Police Sgt. Jonathan Howard said no officers were injured.
The small fire burning on the outside of the home was put out.
No other information was immediately available.
