PHOENIX — A Phoenix pastor met with Vice President Mike Pence, presidential adviser Ivanka Trump and others during a faith briefing this week at the White House.

“The invitation to the White House was intended to … invite our voices to a table of conversation,” pastor Marion Ingegneri told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Arizona’s Morning News on Thursday. “There was no specific agenda they sent us home with … It was not political. It was the most amazing encounter I’ve ever had.”

She said she was blown away by how openly the officials she met asked for advice and the fact they gave out their phone numbers and email addresses so people could remain in touch.

“One of the things that was said that I thought was so interesting by (White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs) Justin Clark was, ‘Don’t assume we know everything. Talk to us.'”

Ingegneri said she was happy to meet Trump and another top adviser, Kellyanne Conway. She also said Pence was not expected to meet the group, but he did pop in for a short bit.

“What an honor it was,” she said, referring to Pence. “I was standing very close to him and got to shake his hand.”

Ingegneri founded Grace North Foursquare Church located near Anthem Way and Interstate 17 in north Phoenix.
