Royals ‘Fight the New Drug’ during spring training in Surprise

PHOENIX — With teams using spring training to help mold their younger players and grow leadership within their respected organizations, the Kansas City Royals went a step further.
In addition to other off-the-field education the team provides to its players, the Royals conducted a seminar at their practice facility in Surprise, Ariz. with an anti-pornography group called “Fight the New Drug.”
“Last weekend our co-founder [Clay Olsen] presented to the [Royals] players and coaches,” the group’s Instagram post read.
“The Royals are the first MLB team to actively take a stand against porn, and we are inspired that they’re stepping up to the plate.”
The group “exists to provide individuals the opportunity to make an informed decision regarding pornography by raising awareness on its harmful effects using only science, facts and personal accounts,” the Fight the New Drug’s website reads.
The group is not affiliated with any religion.
