PHOENIX — Horse racing will not be the only attraction for attendees at Turf Paradise on St. Patrick’s Day, as camels, zebras and ostriches will join the action.

Although you won’t be able to bet on the camels, zebras or ostriches, the camel races were a big hit last year and the year before, so the race track decided to bring the unique animals back.

“The camels, ostriches and zebras are fan favorites,” said Turf Paradise General Manager Vincent Francia. “I just hope the horses don’t get jealous.”

The event will also feature live music, inflatable bounce houses, beer specials and traditional horse racing that attendees will be allowed bet on.

Turf Paradise, near 19th Avenue and Bell Road, also plans to host Fiesta Sundays on March 25th and April 29th, which will feature Mexican food and live music.

The venue will also host a special Kentucky Derby party on May 5th.

We want to hear from you.
