PHOENIX — The weekend is almost here, which means so are the inevitable freeway closures or restrictions in the Phoenix area.

But, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation, there are only two Phoenix-area freeways that will be restricted during the Feb. 23 weekend.

The Interstate 17 will be narrowed to two lanes in each direction — the left two lanes will be closed — between Bell Road and Union Hills Drive from 9 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Saturday for freeway lighting work.

The eastbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to one lane between Higley and Power roads in Mesa from 10 p.m. on Friday to 3:30 a.m. on Saturday for a temporary barrier wall installation.

The eastbound Loop 202 will also be narrowed to one lane between Higley and Power roads in Mesa from 3:30 a.m. on Saturday to 3:30 a.m. on Sunday for guard rail installation.

We want to hear from you.
