PHOENIX — Much like Terminal 4, the renovated Terminal 3 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will be jam-packed with some of the best restaurants in Phoenix.
The Phoenix City Council approved a slew of contracts Wednesday that will fill Terminal 3 with a handful of local restaurants combined with some of the nation’s most popular chains.
Selections will include Postino, The Parlor, Joyride Taco House and the Phoenix Ale Brewer Central Kitchen, among a long list of others. Terminal 4 also has a long list of Arizona-based spots.
Some of the new joints will cut the red ribbon either later this year or early next year, when the renovated South Concourse should open.
All of the options for flyers were expected to be welcoming customers by 2020.
In addition to the new restaurants and shops, the terminal has also received a new name: John S. McCain III Terminal.
The city council voted late last year to name the facility after the longtime Arizona senator, who has been battling against an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Work has been ongoing on the $590 million remodel of Terminal 3 for years. The first phase, completed last year, included an expanded security checkpoint, additional ticket counters and more baggage carousels.
Terminal 3 serves Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian and JetBlue airlines.
