Arizona Lottery rolls out new jackpot-scratcher hybrid game

Feb 21, 2018, 11:49 AM

PHOENIX — The Arizona Lottery has added a new category of games that combines jackpot and scratcher games to give players something fresh.

The games are called Fast Play. They launched on Feb. 12.

“We have four games coming out here right at the launch,” David Nunn, spokesman for the Arizona Lottery. “There is $1, $2 and $5 tickets available.”

The games offer high odds of winning and offer a combined prize pool of over $12 million, with the top prize reaching nearly $50,000.

“[On Feb. 16] we had a winner down in Tucson get $2,000 on our Jackpot Party Progressive, which is one of the two progressive games we offer here with Fast Play,” Nunn said.

Progressive prizes, which increase based on the number of players and tickets sales, can reach up to $5,000

Nunn said that the sales for the Fast Play games will reach about $10 to $12 million next year.

“To put that into perspective, that’s approximately six years of Arizona’s Court Appointed Special Advocates operating budget,” Nunn said.

Arizona’s CASA advocacy program appoints everyday people to speak up for abused and neglected children.

“We’re not selling tickets,” he said. “We’re selling the opportunity for Arizona resident to support great communities.”
