Gov. Doug Ducey among keynote speakers for Phoenix Startup Week

PHOENIX — Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey will be among the keynote speakers during the Phoenix Startup Week, which officially kicked off on President’s Day.
The week-long free event will be held in partnership with Techstars and was powered by Chase for Business. It will take over the George Washington Carver Museum in downtown Phoenix.
“Our startup community is critical to Arizona’s economy, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this year’s Startup Week,” Ducey said in a statement to the Downtown Phoenix Journal.
“As a former entrepreneur, I know first-hand the type of resources that startups need to be successful, and it’s been a consistent theme in my approach to economic development. Arizona is leading the nation when it comes to growing our economy, and our startup ecosystem continues to play a role in this growth.”
Some of the other speakers are set to include Paul B. Allen, the co-founder of Ancestry.com, Jason Blais, the vice president of inside sales at ZipRecruiter and Woz U President Chris Coleman.
According to the publication, this year’s event will feature “vertical days,” which will feature all-day seminars that will focus on a specific area of interest.
The vertical days inclde AI/IoT Day on Monday, Bio/MedTech Day on Tuesday, SaaS Day on Wednesday and Blockchain Conference on Thursday.
