Mesa named among most artistic cities in the nation

PHOENIX — One of the most artistic cities in the nation can be found right here in the Valley.
According to Expedia, Mesa was ranked among the most artistic large cities in the United States.
The business said it was “inspired” by the city — described as a “one stop shop of creativity” — because of its downtown area that is “well worth exploring.”
The article highlighted the Mesa Arts Center, WordPlay Café, Mesa Contemporary Arts, MCC Performing Arts Center and the i.d.e.a. museum.
Mesa was designated under the “large city” category because it has a population of 484,587. Large cities were defined as having populations between 350,000 and 1 million.
“Mesa has a vibrant arts culture that is growing with new artists’ lofts, an emerging music scene and the beginnings of an innovation district that blends creativity, coworking, business and education,” he said.
“We are proud to be recognized as one of the most artistic cities in the country.”
Other large cities that were named as most artistic alongside Mesa included Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Indianapolis and Honolulu.
