PHOENIX — If you’ve been looking for an excuse to try some of the tastiest brews Arizona has to offer, your time has arrived: The Annual Arizona Beer Week begins Thursday.
The eighth-annual event — which is technically 10 days long, but who’s counting? — will involve hundreds of events statewide ranging from tap takeovers to this weekend’s Strong Beer Festival.
More than 500 beers will be on offer to attendees who buy tickets to the 18th-annual festival. Tickets to the event range from $10 to $100 and can be found on the festival website.
“Each year, the festival gets bigger and bigger – it’s a true testament to our community’s love for exceptional beers,” said Rob Fullmer, executive director of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, the group behind the event.
But that’s not to say all of the Arizona Beer Week events cost money to attend. In fact, a majority of them are free — but you will have to pay for your drinks.
Nearly 100 breweries will partake in this year’s festivities.
“This year, we emphasize craft beer education, the artistry of brewing, and the unveiling of never-before-seen suds,” the organizers said.
The Arizona craft beer scene has been on the rise for years and has started to garner national attention. Four Arizona breweries took gold, silver and bronze medal honors at the Great American Beer Festival, though that was hardly the first awards taken back to the Grand Canyon State.
A full list of events can be found at the Arizona Beer Week website.
