PHOENIX — A man was taken to the hospital in serious condition on Tuesday after being hit and dragged by a golf cart at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, officials said.
The Scottsdale Fire Department said it was called to the driving range at the TPC Scottsdale — the course near Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Hayden Road where the tournament is played — after the man was hit.
The man, whose name was not released, suffered injuries to his abdomen and back.
He was struck by the cart and dragged about 30 feet.
Officials did not give other details about the incident.
