Main Street Minute: Nightspot to open in Scottsdale

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. Stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

• The Blind Dragon, which bills itself as a karaoke, supper club and lounge, is scheduled to open next week. The nightspot near Scottsdale and Camelback roads will debut Jan. 26 with regular hours scheduled from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

• A local auto group and pet rescue groups are teaming up Saturday for a dog adoption day. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chapman BMW near Seventh Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix. There will also be food and giveaways.

• Phoenix-based CopperPoint Mutual Insurance has completed acquisition of Pacific Compensation Insurance. The $150-million deal was announced in the fall and recently finalized.
