PHOENIX – A Phoenix Fire rescue crew rescued two groups of hikers after they became lost while hiking on Camelback Mountain on Saturday.
Both groups became lost on separate parts of the Cholla side of the mountain.
One of the groups consisted of two adults, while the other was a 10-year-old and 65-year-old, according to Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Capt. Larry Subervi.
In an effort to reach the hikers, the department’s helicopter was used to light the trail and guide firefighters to the correct locations.
The group of two adults was able to walk down themselves while the child and third adult were escorted by rescuers down the Echo Canyon side of the mountain. All hikers were uninjured.
