PHOENIX — Endgame, an arcade bar that once called downtown Tempe’s Mill Avenue home, said this week it had leased a new location and planned to reopen.

Construction for the bar will take two months while the liquor license will take about two to three months to clear. It was expected to open sometime between April and June.

The new bar will be located on the north side of Broadway Road between McClintock Drive and the Loop 101. The new location will be 22,500 square feet of what their Facebook post described as “pure gaming Valhalla”.

The area will be nearly five times the space of their last location.

The new, updated bar will be two stories tall and will feature three bars: one for the main gaming area, one for the club area and one for the VIP area on the second floor.

The post said that their primary focus is on their console and PC gaming.

The bar closed two years ago due to its disagreements with its landlord, Arizona State University.

The bar owner, Ryan Scott, said at the time that ASU “imposed an endless nightmare of limitations” on the bar that had a “serious damper on quality of service”.

However, in a statement the school said that Scott was behind on payments but wished him luck in his future endeavors.

We want to hear from you.
